Artist talk by John Foubister: 2pm Saturday 25 May Translucent | Paintings by Margie Sheppard and glass by Llewelyn Ash In naming their exhibition Translucent, Margie Sheppard and Llewelyn Ash have identified a common bond between two distinctly different artforms. For Margie, a painter and printmaker whose practice spans three decades, and Llewelyn, a promising young glass artist, their work shares a sense of the uniquely beautiful light that is at the heart of translucence.

The Artwork on the two BBQ areas have been designed by South Australian Artist, Llewelyn Ash, in collaboration with the participants of the “Drawing On Country” workshop. Sections from drawings and paintings by Bill Page, Carole Burrough, Janet Page, Gilbert Dashorst, Barb Pettigrew, Jennie Newman, Barb Pettigrew, Emanda Fretwell and Toni Dallow , have been included in the design,
The overall composition has been inspired by the following participating artists and their work ... Christine Stokes, Judith Sweetman, Maurene McEwen, Jillian Langford, Alice De Gruchy, Pam Owen, Christiane Merz, William Page, Robin Dunn, Janice High, Peter Fitzgerald, Wendy McFee, Corinne Harding, Irene Polias, Deb French, Jo-Anne Rowe.
Fleurieu Biennale Finalist
2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Fleurieu Biennale by David Dridan, Greg Trott and Tony Parkinson with the support of major wineries. Finalists are being shown at the Stump Hill Gallery, Fleurieu Arthouse and Signal Point Gallery. In addition there are 2 satellite exhibitions at DogRidge and Kay Brothers.

First Piece of the Year
The first piece of the year, my fingers were feeling a bit heat sesitive after a little brake from glass blowing. Thanks @drew_spangenberg and @lewis_batchelar for helping out
Nice to get back into the water
So nice to get back in the water and try out my new titanium leg. Its still feeling a little weak so i have to take it really easy, but this is my sort of hydrotherapy. Looking forward to getting back to glass making next week
